Director Identification Numbers have arrived and here’s what you need to know.

by | 19 Oct, 2022

From 30 November 2022 all directors, or alternate directors, of an Australian company, registered Australian body or registered foreign company under the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) are required to obtain a director identification number (director ID) from the Australian Business Registry Services (ABRS).

If you are not currently a director or an alternate director but wish to accept such an appointment, then you need to apply for a director ID before you are appointed to that position.

To obtain a director ID you must be able to provide all the necessary identification documents and consent to having your identification verified by the ABRS.

You can apply online and you will need to set up a myGovID to begin this process.

For further information on this process please consult the ABRS website by clicking the link below
